Funds have been set up in a separate Credit Union account. Other donors are being solicited and the hopes are high that unit can be activated by February, 2008.
WEBSITE: (
www.indianapolisfirebuffs.org) Dennis Chambers reported he has updated the minutes and 2008 officers. Canteen runs portion had a glitch and will have to be redone. Membership applications are now included.
COMMUNICATIONS: Dennis Chambers reported he is getting 2008 invoices and dues notices out. News media associate members will be invoiced for their 2008 renewals.
Replacement pagers are being mailed as quickly as time allows. They will be turned on when receipt is acknowledged by owner and old units should be returned. Old pagers will lose their signal within 120 days, so all changes must be done by that time frame.
New representative at USA Mobility will be contacted for face-to-face to get questionable charges reversed or explained.
Annual cash flow for pager bills will be studied to avoid internal fund transfers that have been needed this year.
THE "REAL" STATION 12: Mark Burke reported Wishard medics on station at our Sta #12 continue to keep a clean house. Carpentry repairs to back door, alley side door in engine bay and Club 12 entrance have been completed. Thermostat override which had been erroneously turned on during December will mean a higher heating bill, but all persons now know to use thermostat first, override secondly. Electrical fixtures and bulbs throughout need maintenance. Mark will oversee. Kitchen stove will be checked for cleaning and putting back in service.
OLD BUSINESS:
Scheduling conflicts with The Salvation Army prevented our Bell ringing during Christmas campaign. Contact will be made earlier in 2008 to avoid missing this activity.
Report from 2007 Hawaii trip raffle still not final. Estimated profit will be confirmed at next meeting. Winner’s steak dinner was held at IFD Sta #20B on December 4. Most Buff ticket sellers and Brian Killilea’s shift were present, along with Btln. Chief Hansman. Winner Killilea made a $200 contribution from his prize for Fire Buff activities. It was decided that this would be the starter funds for F/F Credit Union account for RSU activities.
CPR training class earlier scheduled with Justin Birchfield was not held. He is willing to try again when an open time can be scheduled. Call him on his cell phone at (317) 557-8820. Cost will be approximately $25-$35 for materials and certification stuff.
2008 IFB member dues are being accepted by Treasurer McMichael.
