Minutes for IFB meeting, Feb. 17, 2010, IFD # 61

 

President Mark Burk called the meeting to order at 1930. Thirteen members were present; one member was excused. There were four guests present.

A moment of silence was observed to honor deceased members and local firefighters. The Pledge of Allegiance followed.

The regular meeting was suspended so that Sean Barrett from Paranormal 911 Investigations to talk about the activities their group is doing at Reserve St 12. Sean also pass out some DVD’s of the old pictures he has scanned and put to music. Cindi Asnby Bat 6A aid was here to talk about information on the Perry Township Fire Department Foundation and how grants will help out the IFB.

Regular meeting resumed.

A motion to approve the minutes of the Jan 2010 meeting, as corrected, was made by Jerry Traub and seconded. The motion was approved.

 

The Treasurer's Report:

Report was presented for Jan 2010. Moved by Jerry Traub for approval and seconded. Motion approved.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

ARTIFACTS AND PHOTO ARCHIVES: (Committee: Rodger Birchfield, Ron Cunningham, Brett Jackson, Jack Finney)  

Rodger reported digitizing of old photographs continues.

 

APPARATUS: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, Rodger Birchfield, CL Hankins)

Status quo.

 

MEMBERSHIP: (Committee: Club Secretary)

Maureen Killilea is here for her second meeting for her Active Membership. We had 8 people applied for Associate Membership.

 

RSU:  (Committee: Ed McMichael, Dennis Huff, CL Hankins)

We had 13 runs in the past month.

RSU1 - Is okay, we had a Ford recall done on the RSU.

RSU2 - Jim reported on the continuing repairs and upgrades to the unit to get it ready to be put in service. We started to install the inverter over the weekend and all the warning lights are working now.  We had a Ford recall done on the RSU.

RSU3 - Was taken to the shops for a few minor issues and now is back in service.

 

Mark Burk presented Jim Williamson with the Fire Buff Golden Piston Award. And Mark also presented an award to Jerry Traub for Past President 2009 of a IFD ST 10 shirt.  

 

WEBSITE: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, Dennis Huff, CL Hankins) 

Dennis C reported the website has been updated with the latest runs, minutes.  Motion by Jim Williamson and seconded to let Dennis spent up to $200.00 to update the web name and hosting account to put them on the same billing cycle. Motion passed

 

COMMUNICATIONS/PAGERS:  (Committee: Dennis Chambers) 

Dennis C reported all but two pagers have been turned in and the pagers are no longer working.

 

RESERVE STATION 12: (Committee: Mark Burke, Jim Williamson, Dave Babcock)

Jim reported the light in the back room is not in working order. Sean Barrett mentioned about the basement being cleaned out and looking better.

 

INSURANCE:  (Committee: Jerry Traub, Ed McMichael, Ryan Duffin)

Jerry Traub reported status quo 

 

TURNOUT:  (Committee: Jerry Traub, Ed McMichael, Jim Williamson)

OLD BUSINESS:

Jerry Traub went over the IFB raffle drawing winners again to reconfirm for his records of who sold what ticket.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

St Patrick's Day Parade is on March 17th so please come out and ride.

Opening a credit card or account for IFB for emergent purchases and things needed for day to day operations. Motion by CL and seconded to get the credit card. Motion passed

 

Motion to adjourn 2212, seconded by many.
