Minutes for IFB meeting, March. 18, 2010, IFD # 62

 

President Mark Burke called the meeting to order at 1932. Fourteen members were present; two members were excused. There was one guest present.

A moment of silence was observed to honor deceased members and local firefighters. The Pledge of Allegiance followed. .

Maureen Killilea is here for her for her third meeting and motioned by Gail Lock and seconded by many to accept her into the club

A motion to approve the minutes of the Feb 2010 meeting, as corrected, was made by Jerry Traub and seconded. The motion was approved.

MAIL:

Letter form IMPD Sergeant Chris Nealson about thanking us for our service we provide to the fire and police department,

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

ARTIFACTS AND PHOTO ARCHIVES: (Committee: Rodger Birchfield, Ron Cunningham, Brett Jackson, Jack Finney)  

Rodger reported digitizing of old photographs continues.

 

APPARATUS: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, Rodger Birchfield, C.L. Hankins)

Status quo. And the Ford was in the St. Patrick's day Parade and ran good.

Bloomington Fire would like to use the Ford to be in the ISHAA parade on 3-27-10.

 

MEMBERSHIP: (Committee: Club Secretary)

We had 2 people applied for membership. Richard Michaelis is for Active and James Hammond wants to be an associate member. Motion by Dennis Huff and seconded by many accept James Hammond to Associate Membership. Dennis Huff will call Mr. Michaelis and see if he can come to the next meeting. 

 

RSU:  (Committee: Ed McMichael, Dennis Huff, C.L. Hankins)

RSU1 - Is in the shop being looked at for transmission issues. Replaced the batteries, started solenoid, and starter.

RSU2 - Inverter is in and in operation, All interior lights are working now (Thanks Gail)

RSU3 - Is in okay running condition and C.L. is working on the interior of RSU3.

 

If an RSU will not start please do not try to jump start them you will need to call the IFD on-call maintenance car on car-to-car.

Jim Williamson and Brett Jackson will be working on a "How to RSU" book to go over how to start and operate each RSU.

IFD Retirees are just waiting on us to get all our apparatus back up and going and they will be happy to help out with day runs

Dennis C reported the website has been updated with the latest runs, minutes.  The web page name and hosting is up to date and will be ours until 2014.

RESERVE STATION 12: (Committee: Mark Burke, Jim Williamson, Dave Babcock)

The new locks are on the front door and officer quarters doors. We will be changing the back door looks soon to match the front door. Date for the back door locks to be changed to be announced. We will also be putting on a dead bolt in the storage closet on the first floor back room.

 

INSURANCE:  (Committee: Jerry Traub, Ed McMichael, Ryan Duffin)

OLD BUSINESS:

FDIC is April 18 to the 24. We will be needing people to help out with the following days and times.

Sunday 18              8 to 12

Monday 19             8 to 5

Tuesday 20            9 to 5

Wednesday 21      9 to 5

 

NEW BUSINESS:

We had some donations given to the IFB in the amount of $178.00.

 

Jerry Traub was talking to Chief Bill Brown and he wanted to do a meeting at Airport Fire on June 16th at the Task Force One facility. More information to follow.
