TURNOUT: April 15 is submission deadline, with
projected publishing date of May 1.
WEBSITE: Dennis reports that
all information is up-to-date. Old pictures and sound clips might be added.
Individual web addresses are available. Contact Dennis for details. IFD Sta #14
has its own website now.
COMMUNICATIONS: All
“old” pagers are useless as of this date since group call number is out of
service. Private numbers may still work. Replacement pagers are effective now.
Separate pager will be assigned to RSU—will try to get MECA unit; if not
available, will assign one from Club inventory. Separate radio/phone system for
intra-club use will be explored.
Digital
radio dispatch changeover in process, with effective date expected soon. Not
clear about simulcast being available. Ops channels will be numerical, not by
battalion or township. Rep from IFD communications will be invited to next
meeting at IFD #16 for Q & A about changes and new hardware.
THE REAL STATION 12: Mark Burke reports no payment yet from Election
Board for special Congressional election in March. Certificate frames and badge
display case work continues in first floor watch room. Upstairs TV not
functioning; will look into replacement. Replacement light bulbs were placed in
basement and in back room over refrigerator. Insulation blanket for hot water
heater in basement will be explored.
Cleaning party to get basement arranged will be
scheduled.
Brett Jackson color prints will be done and
displayed, showing club members and canteen activities.
OLD BUSINESS:
Jim Williamson
reported on FDIC activities.
Three sites were manned with canteen/rehab services—West and Morris for Convention
Center apparatus staging; RSU #1 at Wayne Twp training center for HOTS; the
Salvation Army canteen from Kokomo for 16th & Arlington
HOTS. Pennwell publishing donation
has been forwarded to the Salvation Army.
Additional expenses will be paid from club treasury. As the number of
locations served and amount of materials used have grown faster than donation
has increased, we will address this deficit next year with Fire Engineering
staff.
Eastern Kentucky University fire science students
were hosted on Wednesday evening at Local 416 union hall for their annual dinner
and reunion. They have again donated $500 to SURIVE ALIVE in thanks for this
support by the union and our members.
