(The next Breakfast will be the second Saturday in May not the first.) Minutes for IFB meeting, April 14, 2010, IFD # 63 President Mark Burke called the meeting to order at 1934. Thirteen members were present. There was one guest present. A moment of silence was observed to honor deceased members and local firefighters. The Pledge of Allegiance followed. A motion to approve the minutes of the March 2010 meeting, as corrected, was made by Jerry Traub and seconded. The motion was approved. The Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer’s report was presented for Feb 2010. Moved by Jerry Traub for approval and seconded. Motion approved. Motion made by Jim Williamson to move money from share 11 to share 1. Approved and seconded. Motion approved The Treasurer’s report was presented for March 2010. Moved by Dennis Huff for approval and seconded. Motion approved. MAIL: Several magazines came in the mail. We received a letter from Salvation Army thanking us for a $50.00 donation at Christmas time. Bloomington North High School sent a thank you note with a donation to IFB in the amount of $100.00 for allowing them to use the Bloomington Ford in the IHSAA parade on 03-27-10. COMMITTEE REPORTS: ARTIFACTS AND PHOTO ARCHIVES: (Committee: Rodger Birchfield, Ron Cunningham, Brett Jackson, Jack Finney) Rodger reported digitizing of old photographs continues. APPARATUS: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, Rodger Birchfield, C.L. Hankins) Status quo. And the Ford was in the IHSAA parade on 03-27-10 and ran with no issues. MEMBERSHIP: (Committee: Club Secretary) Dennis Huff talked to Mr. Richard Michaelis about coming to the meeting and he would try to make it. He sounded interested in our program and wants to help out. RSU: (Committee: Ed McMichael, Dennis Huff, C.L. Hankins) A report for RSU runs for the last two months was presented. We did 24 runs in that time frame. RSU1 – Back from the shops and at Station 12 to be gone through and cosmetic repairs will be done. RSU2 – Running okay and making runs. RSU3 – C.L. is still working on the inside to make better for making runs. There have bee several occasions on where dispatch has asked command if we are needed after we mark in route and then disregarding us. We are looking in to resolving this issue. C.L. is getting IFB "Thank You" cards made up so we can sent to people that are making donations to us. We will be getting one more radio now and hopefully two more coming soon. WEBSITE: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, Dennis Huff, Brett Jackson) Dennis C reported he is still working on the new website and showed us where he was at in that process. COMMUNICATIONS: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, C.L. Hankins) One pager was turned in tonight, and will be reviewing the high bill that just came in. We are looking at using GMRS radios for better communications between the IFB members. We have a mobile radio for each RSU and we can get more hand held radios so we can coordinate our efforts better. RESERVE STATION 12: (Committee: Mark Burke, Jim Williamson, Dave Babcock) Need to get the station ready for election on May 4th, Paranormal 911 will be doing a breakfast on Saturday April 17th at Station 12. Sean Barrett and his dad did work on the stove in the kitchen and wanted to test it out by cooking for us. IFD Retirees are looking at starting to take runs on May 3rd. National Fire Buffs Region 8 meeting on Saturday 24th time and location TBA NEW BUSINESS: May 22nd, We are invited to the Indianapolis Fire Museum from 2pm to 4 p.m. for a guided tour. Motion by Jerry Traub that IFB donates $50.00 to the Indianapolis Fire Museum in honor of Chief Michael C. Schenk (Oct 6, 1937 – April 3, 2010) and seconded. Motion approved Jim and Brett met the guy working on the house to the south of the Station 12. Mark Burke passed around a new IFB name badge that we can buy from Hoosier Badge. (Stuart Countryman 317-357-4441) C.L. was talking with a guy from Sam’s Club and has put IFB in got two different grants. There is a store grant and a corporate grant. C.L. is looking into the possibility of a local bar letting us set up a Corn-Hole tournament fundraiser some time in August and all the money gained there will be donated to IFB. We can get flowers and plants from Keep Indianapolis Beautiful to make the station look better, and C.L. is looking in to getting this done.
