
Minutes for IFB meeting, May 19, 2010, IFD # 64
President Mark Burke called the meeting to order at 19:33 hours. Thirteen members were present. There were no guests present. A moment of silence was observed to honor deceased members and local firefighters. The Pledge of Allegiance followed. .
A motion to approve the minutes of the May 2010 meeting, was made by Roger Burchfield and seconded. The motion was approved.
The Treasurer’s Report:
The Treasurer’s report was presented for April 2010. Moved by Jim Williamson for approval and seconded. Motion approved.
Email from Dave Palin read; Email from Chief Nicoson to Jim W. about a great job at FDIC read; Email from Captain Alan Fisher LD29A about great job by RSU-3 on the two SAR runs; $100.00 donation from Paranormal 911; $200.00 donation from the Emerald Society; Motion by Dave Babcock to put the two donations into Reserve Station 12 account. Motion seconded and passed; $85.00 donation from Captain Scott Huff and the Dive Team. Motion by Jim Williamson to put this donation into the RSU account. Motion seconded and passed; IFBA convention letter read; Robert H. Weedon obituary show and read. Motion by Dennis Chambers for a $50.00 donation to the Betty & Robert H. Weedon Scholarship Endowment at Butler University. Steve Baker obituary read. Motion by Roger Burchfield to give a $50.00 donation to IU Foundation. Motion seconded and passed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
ARTIFACTS AND PHOTO ARCHIVES: (Committee: Rodger Birchfield, Ron Cunningham, Brett Jackson, and Jack Finney)
Rodger reported digitizing of old photographs continues.
Status quo. After all the photos are scanned they will be available online.
APPARATUS: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, Rodger Birchfield, C.L. Hankins)
Someone from Bloomington Fire Department local union wants to get the Ford back, Motion by Jim Williamson to contact all that have given us apparatus and find out if they want it back or can they give us bill of sale. Motion seconded and passed.
MEMBERSHIP: (Committee: Club Secretary)
Jim Williamson got a email from Carmen Garcia the visitor from last meeting and she said she wanted to become a Active Member. No other correspondence came in about membership.
RSU: (Committee: Ed McMichael, Dennis Huff, C.L. Hankins)

RSU-1: Is in the shops due to busted fuel filter housing.
RSU-2: The unit is hard to start at times.
RSU-3: The unit is running okay. The unit will go the shops to get generator solenoid fixed.
WEBSITE: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, Brett Jackson)
New web front page is up and running, will be working on the other pages. Ed McMichael will work on a IFB Mission Statement.
COMMUNICATIONS: (Committee: Dennis Chambers, C.L. Hankins)
Working on getting all the pagers removed from the bill and getting the current invoices to the proper price; New radio for us and given to Matt Woods for dispatching the retirees on day runs. The radio has an identifier of RSU-4 with MECCA; C.L. brought up the ability to have GMRS radio’s for each RSU and handhelds for our members so we can have club communications. Jim Williamson made a motion that IFB pay half the repeater fee in the amount of $250.00. Motion seconded and passed.
RESERVE STATION 12: (Committee: Mark Burke, Jim Williamson, Dave Babcock)
New locks still being added to the fire house on doors and lockers; Need to schedule a cleaning party for the station after a breakfast; School across from station will be transformed into a Safety Office for IMPD. We need to talk to them about them keeping a eye on the fire house.

OLD BUSINESS:
FDIC check for the Salvation Army; Motion by Jim Williamson to pay the Salvation Army for $250.00 to pay insurance deductible for damage done to the rear bumper of the canteen at FDIC. Motion seconded and passed; Jim Williamson reported on the IFBA meeting that was held in Nashville. Jim is now the Acting President of IFBA; Corn Hole Tournament is getting great responses and C.L. is still working on the prizes.
NEW BUSINESS:
New t-shirts and hats for IFB from Chief Nicoson; Jack Finney loaned Dennis Huff all the meeting minutes so he can scan into PDF files. There was 378 minutes scanned and they started on 02-07-1967. Dennis Huff is working on finding out the missing minutes and will report later; 05-18-2010 is the 48th Anniversary of the club; Dennis Huff brought up that Jerry Traub should be brought up to Lifetime Member Status. Motion by Ed McMichael and seconded by all. Motion passed. Congrats Jerry; Dennis Huff is working on getting a ice bag freezer to be located at the fire house; IFB constitution was passed out for members to look at and the Executive Board will review and update; Dennis Huff is working on wooden firefighter statue for the fire house.
