Minutes for IFB Meeting, June 21, 2006, Station 24
The meeting of the Indianapolis Fire Buffs was called to order
at 1938 on June 21,
2006, by Vice-President Jim Williamson. Ten members were
present; four members
were excused. Guest: Brett Johnson was present for his second
meeting.
A moment of silence was observed to honor deceased members and
firefighters.
The Pledge of Allegiance followed.
A motion to approve the minutes of the May 2006 meeting was made
by Mark
Burke. The motion was approved unanimously.
A motion to approve the Treasurer’s report for May 2006 was made
by John Burris.
The motion was approved unanimously.

upcoming IFBA
convention in Seattle (see below under new business), article

announcing Earl Morgan as new Public Safety Director, replacing
Robert Turner.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
MUSEUM: no report
APPARATUS: no report
MEMBERSHIP: no report
CANTEEN: On station at Station 12. No runs.
COMMUNICATIONS: no report
STATION 12: Station 12 roof was severely damaged by recent hail
storm. The Club
has been advised that the roof will be fixed along with any
ceiling and floor
damage. At present, the roof has been covered with a tarp.
OLD BUSINESS: Convention Ad Book – Jerry Traub made a motion to
purchase a
$100 ad for the Seattle convention ad book. Paul McMichael was
appointed to
produce the camera-ready ad copy. The motion was approved
unanimously.
Dues report: matter tabled for one month to allow Jerry Traub,
Dennis Chambers,
and Paul McMichael to meet regarding the roster and then present
a report at July
meeting.
The Business Entity Report (Indiana Corporations Division) was
filed by Ed
McMichael.
NEW BUSINESS: Jerry Traub presented a report that the merger
between IFD and
Washington Township would take effect on January 1, 2007 at
12:00:01 a.m.
A motion to appoint Jim Williamson as IFB’s Delegate and Jerry
Traub as the
Alternate Delegate for the Seattle 54th Annual IFBA
Convention was made by Ed
McMichael. The motion was approved unanimously.
Jerry Traub reported the Club was presented with a plague from
the Salvation Army
in recognition of the Club’s volunteer support at the recent SA
Volunteer
Recognition Luncheon attended by Traub, Mark Burke, and Mary
Morgan. There
was discussion of having a “display wall” at Station 12.
Jerry Traub discussed the first issue of Turnout that is now
being produced by IFB.
Jim Williamson had hard copies that he passed out for review.
