WEBSITE:
Dennis Chambers
reported that he, Tod Parker, and Brett Jackson met during the past month to
work on website ideas. Following that meeting, three domain names were batted
around. A motion from Jerry Traub (as amended) to adopt www.indianapolisfirebuffs.org as our domain
name/address and authorization up to $250 to be taken from the pager savings
account to allow the domain registration (five years) and hosting (three year
commitment) was approved. An additional part of the Traub motion was
authorization to set up a Paypal account to be used for hosting payments as well
as future dues/pager payments to the Club. The Paypal account is to be jointly
monitored by Dennis Chambers and the Club Treasurer, and the activity and
balance are to be reported as a part of the monthly Treasurer’s
report.
COMMUNICATIONS: Dennis Chambers
discussed the recent problems with pager service, and said he continues to
investigate pagers and alternate communications.
STATION 12: Mary Morgan reported she is still waiting for the
interior work to be started. Steve Hanson will start work on the back door soon.
She said the Medic unit is starting to be more security conscious and are
setting the alarm when leaving for the day.
OLD BUSINESS:
Nothing

A motion to fund two
full registrations for a primary and alternate delegate to the Nefcon 07 IFBA
convention was made by Jerry Traub. The motion passed.
Due to some recent
fireground “issues,” Club officers developed a Fireground Code of Conduct, which
simply puts in writing the informal rules we have always operated under. A
signed copy of the Code of Conduct will be an Active Membership requirement, and
any violations of the rules on a fireground could result in Active Membership
revocation. Also presented was the “Fast Unit” Code of Conduct, as mentioned in
last month’s minutes, which will be the rules and regulations for the RSU’s
(Rehab Support Units). Any member who has not yet signed one or both of these
documents should see Jerry Traub, who was designated as our Accountability
Officer.
Mark Burke showed
samples of IFB Logo stickers and an IFB front license plate. Several members
placed orders. Also discussed were magnetic signs for canteen use. Jim
Williamson made a motion to purchase 10 magnetic signs. The motion
passed.
