Minutes for IFB Meeting, August 16, 2006, Station 26
The meeting of the Indianapolis Fire Buffs was called to order
at 1930 on August
16, 2006, by President Rodger Birchfield. Fourteen members were
present; two
members were excused. There were no guests.
A moment of silence was observed to honor deceased members and
firefighters.
The Pledge of Allegiance followed.
A motion to approve the minutes of the July 2006 meeting was
made by Jerry
Traub. The motion was approved unanimously.
A motion to approve the Treasurer’s report for July 2006 was
made by David
Chambers. The motion was approved unanimously.
MAIL: Enjine-Enjine, Silver Trumpet, letter from IFBA National
President (greetings
and hope to see everyone at Boston convention).
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
MUSEUM: no report
APPARATUS: Dennis Chambers reported status quo.
MEMBERSHIP: Membership ID cards are still pending per Rodger
Birchfield.
CANTEEN: Batteries on the canteen have been replaced, and it is
on station at
Station 12. No runs.
COMMUNICATIONS: Final notices have been mailed to pager accounts
in arrears,
Dennis Chambers reported. Pagers disconnected if no response
within 30 days.
STATION 12: Dave Babcock reported the money for roof, gutter,
and downspout
repairs has been appropriated, but the purchase order has not
yet been written. Due
to time constraints, Dave Babcock is stepping down at Station 12
Captain. (Thanks,
Dave!!) Mark Burke and Mary Morgan graciously accepted the
appointment as cocaptains,
effective immediately.
OLD BUSINESS: Jerry Traub reported Indy Publishing Group is
working on a special,
post-convention edition of Turnout. Submission deadline is
8/28; publishing goal is
around Labor Day.
Dues report: matter tabled again. The meeting had not yet taken
place.
NEW BUSINESS: Jerry Traub reported on the upcoming Raffle. Sales
are to begin at
Retiree’s Dinner on Sept. 19, with the drawing at the Union
Meeting on Nov. 21.
Sales weekends will be:
Sept. 20, 30, Oct. 1
Oct. 13, 14, 15
Oct. 27, 28, 29
Nov. 10, 11, 12
Jerry will finalize the sales staff and station
responsibilities.
