COMMITTEE REPORTS:
MUSEUM: no report

APPARATUS: no report

MEMBERSHIP: Membership ID cards are still pending per Rodger Birchfield. We have received an application for active membership from Tod Parker.

CANTEEN: Canteen runs: 11/12/06 – Summit House Apartments, 2nd Alarm for fire in a trash chute, responded to by Tod Parker and Ed McMichael. On the scene for approximately one hour and served 25-30 firefighters.

11/17/06 – Responded to Zionsville apartment fire at 1876 Williams Glen Blvd, 2nd Alarm fire that destroyed 16 units. Fire fought by Zionsville FD, Boone County FD, Carmel FD, Pike Twp. FD, Washington Twp. FD. Responded to by Bert Williams, Mark Burke, Ed McMichael, and Tod Parker. Our canteen was not really needed; Zionsville FD has very effective support unit that responds on large incidents. We assisted them and left them with some supplies; Bert Williams provided some emotional aid and counseling to the fire victims. This was the first response in one of the new canteens.

COMMUNICATIONS: Dennis Chambers reported he had finally been able to talk to a USA Mobility representative who confirmed that recent billings, including all the extra fees, were correct; however, USA Mobility would be willing to decrease monthly fees in exchange for a binding two-year contract, which Dennis informed USA Mobility would be a bilateral contract due to some recent service issues (which would be a cause for early termination of the contract). An extensive discussion on the pagers and future communications needs followed. It was concluded that further investigations would be conducted by Mr. Chambers. The general consensus was that the two year contract may not be in our best interest.

STATION 12: Mary Morgan and Mark Burke reported the roof repairs have not yet been done, apparently due to some paperwork issues. It was related that the work was to start within two weeks. In the meantime, the tarp is leaking, so any interior work is being postponed until the roof is repaired. Mary Morgan will continue pursuing these issues. An estimate to reconstruct the back door was received in the amount of $200. Dave Babcock made a motion to approve expenditure. The motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS: Jerry Traub reported the raffle concluded on 11/21/06 with the drawing at the 416 Union Hall. Overall, ticket sales were the best they have been in quite a while. Jerry reported we have now awarded $61,670 in prizes in the 26 raffles we have conducted.
