President Jerry Traub called the meeting to order at 1933. Sixteen members were present; four members were excused. There was one guest: Maureen Killilea.

A moment of silence was observed to honor deceased members and local firefighters. The Pledge of Allegiance followed.

She said an engine, ladder, and heavy rescue run out of the station, as well as Battalion 4. The station itself is 10 years old. She discussed the coverage area of the station.

Chief Dave Owens (car 1700) was introduced. He discussed the possibility of using Reserve Station 12 for training and housing purposes within a pilot program for statewide firefighter training. He said firefighter candidates would be in Indianapolis to train for eight weeks. During that time, they would be housed at Reserve Station 12. There would be some improvements made to the station – plumbing, showers, stove, etc. to make things 100 per cent functionable. Bunk Beds and lockers would be added in the sleeping area. He also discussed that some meals would need to be provided and asked if the Buffs could assist with that effort. His main purpose today was to obtain our approval so that planning could progress. Jim Williamson made a motion to approve in principle the program as presented. The motion was approved.
